We bring research and decision-making power into the same room.

SAVE (Strategic Alliances Viable Earth) is a non-profit based in Hamburg. We make sure the best evidence on the gravest risks of our time reaches decision-makers while the decision is still open: in German ministries, the Bundestag, the European Commission and at the UN climate conferences.

After the protest comes the conversation. We make it happen.

What our work has already moved

We measure ourselves by connections that would not have happened without us, and by what decision-makers do next.

40+staff of Germany’s development ministry (BMZ) and its agency GIZ, briefed by three lead authors of the Global Tipping Points Report on SAVE’s initiative
~100concrete recommendations for the European Commission’s climate directorate, plus a policy memorandum for the cabinet of Climate Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra
Oct 2025the Bundestag’s first debate on climate tipping points, to which we contributed alongside many others
200+meetings between our founder and parliamentarians or EU officials since 2019

From one email to the Bundestag and a federal ministry

How SAVE works, illustrated by climate tipping points.

  1. One email

We wrote to the team of then Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. A message in a bottle.

  2. A meeting

The reply became a meeting, and the meeting became a series of conversations.

  3. Preparation

Who sits at the table, what moves them, what does the research say? We brought studies on the planetary commons, UN reform and tipping points.

  4. The scientists

We connected ministries with authors of the Global Tipping Points Report. Scientific findings became policy recommendations.

  5. The Bundestag

One week after the 2025 report was published, the Bundestag debated climate tipping points for the first time.

  6. The ministry

More than 40 BMZ and GIZ staff attended the briefing. BMZ then planned a follow-up format.
